If you are a Mumbaikar and a foodie, you will incomplete unless you visit Mohammad Ali Road at least once during Ramzan. And no, you don’t have to be meat lover, having a sweet tooth works just fine.

Make sure you pay Tawakkal Sweets a visit, cz they have the most creamiest Phirni (a sort of a porridge) and Malpua (Deep-fried pancake) which has a crispy edge and a soft middle. Also, they serve katori-full (bowl-full) of Malai (the creamy layer which appears on milk when boiled) with a variety of flavours. I am not a big fan of Malai, but for those of you out there who are, you are in for a treat.

In spite of being surrounded by a large hungry crowd shouting out orders, the old man at the counter doesn’t forget to greet everyone with a smile.

The celebrated #Phirni from Tawakkal Sweets, near Minara Masjid. Deliciously creamy with just the right amount of sugar. Go try!

There are tiny tables inside, but people prefer making their sweets a ‘takeaway’. Even the rain didn’t seem to bother anyone that. To be honest, I don’t think anyone noticed the rain while watching the cook fry the malpuas in his large kadhai.
What joy it is to finally bite into the piping hot Malpuas!
